West End Church, a satellite campus for River Pointe Church, recently hung its large centerpiece cross, marking a monumental moment in the church’s near-complete renovations. Studio RED Architects designed the renovations, which include both the education and sanctuary buildings, as well as site work and a new courtyard.
The satellite church is located in the Loop at 809 Shepherd Drive near Washington Avenue. The building, which was home to West End Baptist Church, is 109 years old and in need many repairs. River Pointe Church purchased the building in an effort to expand its congregation and is responsible for the $6 million of projected renovations.
West End Church will celebrate its grand opening on November 6.
“It has been exciting working with River Pointe Church, and we can’t wait until November 6th when West End Church will be a vibrant church again in the inner city,” says Studio RED partner Trung Doan.
